Professional Writing Samples
Here are a few writing samples, presentations, or examples of my written work. If present in the document, sensitive or non-circulable information has been removed. The presentation and layout of the information here is all my own, although policies or other material may belong to other entities.
This is not an exhaustive list of the work I've completed! These samples are here to showcase just a few of my favorite examples of my professional writing. |

1. Endure and Survive: Dystopia in the Post-Apocalypse and its Insight into Human Existence -
Master's Thesis, Idaho State University: 2014. The goal of my thesis was to demonstrate that post-apocalyptic fiction purposefully produces a dramatic scenario for character interactions, serving to comment on the fear and paranoia of the society from which it is produced. By offering a multi-modal commentary of post apocalypse as it is found in various forms of dystopian fiction, this thesis studies two popular examples of dystopian post-apocalyptic literature: Cormac McCarthy’s “The Road” and a popular PlayStation 3 game “The Last of Us” by NaughtyDog studios. 2. The Battle of Borodino -This was originally an assignment to present a component of "War and Peace". I chose to illustrate the scene were Prince Andrei Bolkonsky is injured at the Battle of Austerlitz, where in the same moment he has an epiphany about the beauty of life and his potential to be happy without conflict. This ended up being published in Idaho State University's literary journal, Black Rock and Sage, in 2014. |
